This Skill Level 2 kit was created with a multiple-fin design, representative of the Nike ground to air missiles that were used in our countrys defense for years. Between 1954 and 1974 many USA cities were ringed by Nike missile sites, intended to protect against attack by enemy bombers. The first versions of the missiles were armed with high explosive warheads, so they could bring down the target even with a near miss. The Guardian stands just over 19 \" (48.3 cm) and features two body tubes, a transition section, laser cut balsa fins, molded nose cone and high quality self-stick decals. Altitudes over 700 \' (213 m) can be reached when launching on standard Estes engines. A reliable recovery is in store with its shiny 12 \" (30 cm) parachute.
